Snow-ice, and a little prayer request!

Just a little update on Bunny and her family- she's still iced in and is STILL without electricity and telephone. I received a short mms in my mail again this morning and went to look at news updates about it - OMG, It's really BAD! And they were saying the shelters were full too!

So asking for your prayers for all those out there stuck in this horrendous ice storm without the basic survival equipment and shelter! Things we always take for granted- heat, water and food! I hope that they will be able to restore some electricity SOON! I know it happens all over but actually KNOWING people stuck in it makes it a little closer to home.

Smooth Runnings

WOOHOOO- Waynes IT guy came yesterday and spent most of the day fiddling and tweaking my PC- the best is he installed the New Router too! Yup it all works as it should- lol. And the new HD for my backups is in too!

YAY YAY YAY!  So we are SMOOOOTH and *hopefully* more stable now! ( that's the PC folks- come now, come now-lol)

I've got a little HAPPY BIRTHDAY to send out today, this is to someone that has loyally been visiting me ( and others) for a long time and ALWAYS say's a hi and a leaves a comment,

VALINDA- I hope you have a wonderful day my friend and that the year ahead is filled with ALL you wish and hope for! Thanks so much for your friendship and for your constant support too.

Spring cleaning in Summer

I did a whole spring clean of my desk and PC this weekend! I did back ups the whole of Sat! WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO- GO ME- lol. Deleted old programs, did a de-frag, disc clean and put on a new anti Virus! Yup- so I'm ready for the year now! And Oh goodness, hubby and I had a little *tiff* on Sunday afternoon because he tried to make my life easier and install a faster router on Sat- lol, but it didn't show up so he decided to take it out and leave it to the professionals to install ( uhum- it has been sitting here for nearly 6 months already- lol)- but not his fault on that one;-),

And Sunday being the boys GOLF morning I was sooo keen to get stuck in - HAH!- every time I logged on - the line dropped after 30 secs! So I reset the router AGAIN and get the connection- 30 seconds- GONE! ARRRGHHH- after our net problems this week I was really getting frustrated.

So I left it and did some doodling instead- lol. But of COURSE when he walked in the first thing I said was- WHAT did you change or do to the connections-? OOOOOOOPSSSS- yeah, maybe I should have let him put his clubs down first huh??- hahahaha

NOTHING!!! was the answer- it's the line again!!

But if it was the line ,it wouldn't connect and have a *specified* drop time on EVERY connection(I have three I use)! mmmmm- you seeeing where this was going right?- lol

After a few more heated words, My dearest hubby fiddles behind me (at his desk) and just say's- is it stable now??-

UHUM- YES!! WOOHOOOO, what was it??

Oh I must take my hat off to my hubby- he is soooo much better at apologising than me- hee hee, he was already saying sorry before he got up from under his desk ;-)

Sorry sorry sorry!I changed the ports and just put the old one back where it was before-

Internet FRUSTRATION

OMG, I was tearing my hair out yesterday- and All my fellow South Africans too- lol. After MANY error pages and hang ups and just plain PITA blanks- I sent a message to Jenni to say I was having problems uploading to the gallery - hee hee- well the little smiley I got back of the guy waking his computer to bits was just TOOO FUNNY as Jen was having the SAME problems- eventually found out ( thanks girls-=lol) that it was a gateway was down to the USA- (The international gateway between Bellville and Ashburn (Virginia, for those who don't know) is currently down) OH BOY- don't you know you have ADDICTS this side that just don't function without it! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. But we back and up and running today! WOOHOOOO.

Mind you it was a good thing in a way- it's like a * forced holiday* - I got to play in photo shop, watch a DVD with Nathan and had time to do a french manicure on MY OWN nails- BWAHAHAHA. so a good day in all. ;-)

Back to School

AWWW- and here we go- Last year of SCHOOL! I was feeling a little melancholy this morning- remembering Nathans 1st day at school! Goodness it really feels like Yesterday! And then remembering my mom and dad sitting in our lounge at home at 1.30am in the morning, waiting for me to come home with all my friends(including Wayne) after we had gone down to our news paper house to get the first edition print for the next day at midnight ,to see if we had passed Matric ( grade 12). WOW- that also seems like yesterday-lol

So I went and dug up some old photo's to find the ones from Nathans first day-

AWWWWW- all shiny and new.

And then I had to make him STOP this morning so I could get another shot of his first LAST year- lol

Also all shiny but not so new anymore- LOL

MOM!!!!- ENOUGH now- lol, yup that's my little man ( who now has FUZZ on his top lip and is asking me for a razor- ARRGHHH)-hahaha.

And Mrs Miles- Yes here is South Africa the children wear uniforms to school- which I think is FANTASTIC! There's no peer pressure on what to wear each day - and each school has it's own identity too by the blazers/badges they wear. Even though they are expensive- Nathan's previous blazer before this one lasted 3 years! We hand them into the school for their second hand shop when the kids outgrow them ;-).

Dad missed the first day- and I had to do the EARLY morning traffic run- OMG, I think my body is in SHOCK today- BWAHAHAHAHA, it's thinking its already 3/4pm in the afternoon- not 12.30pm! WAY to early for this woman! lol
